Yes, I’m a San Francisco newborn photographer – but I travel throughout the Bay Area, including places like San Jose for my mamas and babies. I’m always happy to jump in the car and traverse the peninsula for my families. Plus, between you and me, it is sometimes the only time I have to myself. Driving in my car, listening to podcasts – heaven!
Enough about me. Let’s talk about this sweet newborn session in San Jose. This little guy was so attached to his mama. Well, that and he was cluster feeding in the mornings. It was a fun challenge to let him nurse for a while and then we’d take pictures for a couple of minutes before he wanted mama again. I could tell he was tired from nursing and then taking photos – that’s a lot of work for a little 14 day old baby. So, I asked mom what their normal routine would be and she said, he usually falls asleep on her chest between feedings. Perfect! I had her lay down holding him on her chest. These ended up being some of my favorite photos from the entire session. To capture this moment that they’ll remember forever is so special! Every mama remembers the laying down with their newborns on their chest while they also try to get a little shut-eye. It was magical and I’m so grateful I listened to this newborn boy and let him guide us during the session. I’ll be sharing more from this sweet session so stay tuned!
