Catching up on blog posts and lots work today. So I figured, why not share my family vacation photos from Lake Tahoe first?! Think of me as your crazy relative who has invited you over to watch a slideshow of their vacation photos. So much fun, right? 😉 Well, now you can roll your eyes in the privacy of your own home – but I know you’re going love seeing these photos! So save the eye-rolling for when a relative really asks you to do something lame, like show them how to post on Facebook. heheh.
Last year we went to Tahoe, my first time going up there during the summer and we loved it so much we decided to do it again. This year my husband’s side of the family joined us as well. My son is the bigger boy (2 years old); and my nephew is the littler guy (1 year old). The first day we arrived in Tahoe, grandma and I decided to take the boys to Speedboat beach. One of my favorite beaches in Tahoe! It was just down the street from where we were staying too. I have to say I was so happy I took my camera with us because the boys had so much fun checking out the water and the light was gorgeous! Now, I should mention the water in Tahoe is freezing, like brain-freeze freezing. So the boys were quite brave walking around in it. I know their little toes must’ve been numb but they were so excited to be on an adventure.
In the mornings my husband and I would take our son for a hike. Our favorite place to hike was at Secret Cove. With a toddler in tow, we only ever made it to one cove with him. And that cove was so beautiful. It was off the beaten path and even though it was a hike, it was well worth it.
Unless we were planning a beach day, we didn’t bring swimsuits. So the boys ended up running around in their diapers on our excursions. Lesson learned – always have a swimsuit on hand while on a family vacation!
