I was trolling through my pictures in Lightroom when I came across photos from our first vacation with our baby boy when he was about five and half months old. I think most parents remember the first time they took their children with them on vacation. Mostly because it felt like a lot of work compared to vacationing sans children. I remember being stressed about our baby crying in the hotel and disturbing other patrons (which didn’t happen thankfully) and about sleeping arrangements.
The first night of our getaway in Napa, the hotel didn’t have a room with a king bed available, so we ended up with two queens. I slept with our baby in one and my husband in the other. In the middle of the night, my husband snatch our baby out of my bed and took him into his bed! Umm, no. He was happy with himself for about 10 minutes when baby started crying so he promptly returned our son.
Our room also didn’t have a bathtub. And our baby boy was far too large for the sink at this point. So, my husband had to shower with him. It was fine, but I was a little worried that after our son was wet with soap he’d slip right out of my husband’s arms. It sounds crazy, I know. But when you’re new mom you worry about stuff like this.
