My husband’s daughter visited us this summer. It was her first trip to America as a big girl (she’s from Holland) and we were utterly elated to have her here. The days flew by and were packed with outings to see San Francisco, such as Fisherman’s Wharf, the San Francisco Zoo, Bay Aquarium and shopping (the highlight of the trip I was told!). The one item on my list of must-dos was taking father-daughter portraits.
It was her last full day here and all the family was trying to fit in as much time together as possible. So, with 30 minutes or less to spare, we scampered across the street from our house and snapped a few portraits. And boy, am I happy we made time for it. Pictures like these, of a daughter and her dad, are so special and will be treasured for years to come. Life flickers by so quickly – kids grow older and their parents get even older – so having this little memento as a reminder of how much her dad loves her and her first trip visiting us is priceless.
